STEPS TO ASKING THE FATHER

The theme of our prayers for this month is knocking on Heavens doors.
Key text John 16: 23-24; John 15:17

In Psalm 83, the psalmist explains that because the enemy cannot get to God, he goes for the children (us); But God has made us more than conquerors through Christ Jesus (Romans 8:37), hence we have victory over the enemy. This month, we will experience and testify to this; by asking Our Father, and knocking on Heavens doors”. We have an assurance that He will answer (John 16: 23-24), and He will make our joy full.

Let us consider the scriptures:

John 16:23-24

23 “And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you.24 until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.

The Lord mentioned “you” 6 times, if you were not important the Lord will not
have mentioned “you” six times. The underlying fact is that it is about YOU. You need to ask in prayer.

Let’s look at John 15:7
If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will[a] ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.

In this verse you have “you” five times, you must ask what you want; again great emphasis’ is placed on “you”

To help you ask, I want to highlight seven things you need to do in sequence this month, in other to receive from God:

1a) Decide and know what you want from God, back this up with scriptures. Be specific and stand on God's word. You must get the scriptures against each point that you want; scriptures that have promises embedded in them. You can’t operate outside of knowledge; you must operate in knowledge.

1b) You must ensure that your prayer point is coming from your heart not just your mind, you must pray only prayers you are passionate about. Joshua 1:8. This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it, for then you shall make your way prosperous and then you will have good success.

1c) You must be able to use your prayer points and scriptures you are standing on against the devil because the devil is going to use them against you. For example, if you are standing on Philippians 4:19 “And my God will supply all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus;” The devil will bring fear into your heart, you may look around you and find nothing else but debts all around. You must believe it in your heart that God will supply your needs. You must stand on scriptures that help you fight doubt in your heart. And as you do this, God will stand for you. Jesus did this in Matthew 4:7-11. He quoted the bible against the devil. It is written.

2. You must ask God for what you want and need.  Your prayer request must be what you desire, not what any other person desires. You must believe that you have received what you have asked for.

It needs to be the case that that we stand on prayers engineered by faith, this means that we believe that once we ask, God has heard and has granted. See Mark 11:24. “Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”

Those things are already granted to you in the spiritual. Ephesians 1:3. You just now need to believe that you have received them, in the physical.

This means that if I have received something from God, I should not ask again, as I have received my request in the spirit and it’s just a waiting process before the prayer is manifested.  I’m not going to go to God and say “God I asked the first time and I’m asking the second and the third and so on. No I am going to ask once and then begin to thank Him for what He has done in the spiritual until it is manifested in the physical.

So  those things that you have asked God for that you have written down, don’t ask God again because He has already given them and has granted them, all you need to do is to thank God for giving those things to you.
